On the tenth of November, 2025, the program “Latin Grammy In The Schools.” Came to visit LVHS, Inviting special Guests alongside with them, Those guests being famous Latin musicians Oscar Maydon, Luis Angel, and Edgar Barrera. As well as the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation executive director, Raquel “Rocky” Egusquiza, infamous journalist Grecia Lopez, And of course featuring the donors of the event, Sony music group, Dollar Tree, and the Fundacion Del Dr. Simi.
The event lasted from 8:26 to 11:14 A.M. The event provided an inclusive experience for students which were enrolled in a music class, an experience which had The cheer team, marching band, And Mariachi Joya, Perform at the theater room in front of the wide audience,
In tribute to the rest of the event performing to represent the thriving music department of the school and as well as the everlasting growing popularity in Latin music. After the speech from Raquel about what the whole program is about and the importance of education through musical lenses, Head mariachi director of LHVS, Stephen Blanco expressed his gratitude for the foundation’s helping hand in providing many students with brand new instruments stating that, “ Without this help, it would be a struggle to provide instruments and equipment for our 700 students.”
The SLAM Nevada Administration team further added onto this, stating that “At SLAM Nevada we are incredibly honored to receive this generous gift from the Latin Grammy Cultural Foundation and its partners.” Through the influence and hold the program has on the many young and impersonal musicians, bringing out major influencers in the music scene to give a word of advice to all, it is hoped and thought that more events similar to this can be possible in able to support the dreams of students.
